The Vineyard- March 24, 2013

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Luke 19:28-40
Pray for God to speak to you through the reading of his word.
Read the passage
-          What things do you notice about Jesus?
o   Is this how you would expect the Messiah to enter Jerusalem, on a colt?  Why or why not?
o   What does it mean for Jesus to be king?  How does that change our world?  Our church?  Us as individuals?
-          What things do you notice about the disciples?
o   Why do you think the owner of the colt so easily gives up their animal for Jesus’ use?
o   Who actually places Jesus on the colt?  What do you think this means?
o   Who does it say proclaimed Jesus entry into Jerusalem?
-          How do you proclaim Jesus as king in your life?  Is he truly the Lord of the decisions you make, and of what you make a priority in your life?
-          Can you honestly say that you are a disciple of Jesus Christ?  The disciples wouldn’t have been able to proclaim Jesus, if they hadn’t first followed him.  Is your proclamation empowered by your discipleship?
Pray:
-          That your life will reflect the fact that Jesus is king
-          That you will be able to joyfully give of your possessions, and yourself, when “the Lord has need of them”
