The Vineyard- March 19, 2013

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Acts 5:12-42
Pray for God to speak to you through the reading of his word.
Read the passage.
-          Receiving healing
o   Numerous people are brought to the apostles, and it says that all of them were healed.
o   What physical healing have you received from God?  What emotional and spiritual healing have you received because of Jesus Christ?
-          Receiving freedom
o   God frees the apostles from prison.  What has God freed you from in life?
o   The angel instructs the apostles to go and speak of this life.  Does the life you live allow you to speak boldly about God’s goodness and mercy?
-          Threatening the world
o   A funny thing happens when the apostles are flogged, or beaten, because of their preaching the gospel: they rejoice.  Does the world see you as enough of a threat to try and silence you?  Do you rejoice when you suffer for being like Jesus?
Pray that our church will be a place of healing.
Pray that our lives will be a testimony to the freedom found in Jesus Christ.
Pray that the world will see our faith as a threat, and that we may rejoice if we suffer on account of Jesus Christ.
