The Vineyard- May 5, 2013

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Acts 4:23-5:11
Pray for God to speak to you through the reading of his word.
Read the passage.
-          The church as a place of prayer
o   Do you come to the church as a place of encouragement?  What do you do to encourage other Christians in our community?
o   Do you rely on prayer as a source of strength as you try to live out your faith?  Do challenges drive you deeper into the arms of God?
-          The church as a place to serve others
o   Do you take advantage of opportunities to serve others with your church family?
o   Why is it important that the church be a place where people can find help…and hope?
-          The church as a place to serve ourselves?
o   Have you ever been tempted to see the church as existing to serve you?  How can we prevent ourselves from developing a selfish mindset when it comes to our possessions, and the church?
Pray that our church may be a place of prayer, where people find strength and encouragement.
Pray that our church may continue to become a community that seeks ways to serve others, and help those in need.
Pray that we may resist the temptation to be selfish as individuals, and as a church.
