The Vineyard- July 5, 2015

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

II Corinthians 3:7-18
-          Covenant
o       The old covenant was the covenant of condemnation, because death was the only possibility for us.  With the new covenant, God’s Spirit guides us as we become like Christ.  Is your life defined by following rules, or allowing the Spirit to work in your heart?
-          Veil
o       Paul says that when we read the Law, the Old Testament, without believing in Christ, a veil lies over our hearts and mind, because Christ is whom the Law is pointing to.  Is the Old Testament simply a bunch of old, out-dated rules to you, or do you see the promise of Christ there?
-          Transformation
o       As Christians, we should be in the process of being transformed into the image of Christ day by day.  Is that transformation happening in your life?  Are you beholding Christ so that the transformation can take place?
Pray that we will embrace the new covenant, and God’s Spirit which works in us.
Pray that as we continually turn the Christ, the veil will be lifted from our hearts.

Pray that we all might be transformed into the image of Christ, day by day.
