Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- June 3, 2012

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

I Peter 4:1-19
- Peter refers to the fact that “the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry.  What have you wasted your time on in the past?  How will you ensure that you don’t waste the present, and the future on similar sinful or superficial things?
- We see that we should use the present time to love, speak and serve.  Who is really behind each of these actions?  What enables us to love, speak, and serve as we should?
- If we are to endure suffering, how should we endure it?  Whom should we be serving?

Camp & VBS
- Take time to say a special prayer for the plans that are being made for both camp and VBS, as well as for the workers who will be giving of their time, energy, and talents in both efforts.
- Also, say a special prayer for the kids and teens involved in VBS and camp.  Pray that God will use those times to build up their faith, and increase their knowledge of who Jesus is, and how they can best serve him in their lives.
