Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- May 12, 2013

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Isaiah 6:1-8
Pray for God to speak to you through the reading of his word.
Read the passage.
-          The glory and majesty of God
o   How does the passage describe God?  How does it describe God’s dwelling place?
o   What is the response of Isaiah?  Have you ever felt like Isaiah felt?  Have you ever considered your imperfections in light of God’s holiness and perfection?
-          The redeeming work of God
o   When Isaiah proclaims his unworthiness, what is God’s response?
o   Does Isaiah sanctify himself, or does God sanctify him?
-          Our response to God
o   God asks whom he can send to do his work.  What is Isaiah’s response?  When God needs something done, do you raise your hand like Isaiah and say, “here am I Lord, send me!”?
Pray that we may experience the glory and majesty of God both as individuals, and also as a church.
Pray that we may trust God for our redemption, for our sanctification.  Pray that we may acknowledge our unworthiness, and ask God to cleanse us.
Pray that we may respond to God’s work in us, and on our behalf, by volunteering ourselves for his service.  Pray that we might be sent by God into our community to do his good work.
