Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- June 9, 2013

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Acts 7:1-8:3
Pray for God to speak to you through the reading of his word.
Read the passage.
-          Believing God is present
o   What people in your life has God used to reveal to you his presence?
o   What unlikely places, or during what unlikely times, have you felt God’s presence?
-          Understanding God is transcendent
o   What are some ways that you have tried to limit God before?
o   What does it mean that Jesus Christ, God’s Son in human flesh, sits at the right hand of God?
-          Making God our focus
o   How do you ensure that God remains your focus, even when the world is focused on other things?
o   Do you focus on the life of Christ, so as to learn from his life how we should treat others, even our enemies?
Pray that we as individuals and as a church may discover the ways that God reveals himself to us in the ways he uses those around us.
Pray that we will find hope and comfort in the fact that though God is present with us in this world, he also occupies a place far above it.

Pray that we will increasingly make God our focus, and that we will commit ourselves to living as Jesus Christ lived.
