Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- July 21, 2013

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

VBS Recap
Spend some time reflecting on what our children learned this week at VBS.  If you have kids, talk with them about what they learned
-          Living God’s Way
o   God gave Moses the Ten Commandments so we would know how to treat God and one another.  If we remember to love God and each other, we will live the way God wants us to live.
-          Worship God Alone
o   During Elijah’s lifetime, Israel began worshipping other gods.  Nothing should ever be more important to us than God.
-          Jesus is God’s Son
o   On the Mount of Transfiguration, God revealed Jesus to be His Son, and told us to listen to Him.  If we listen to Jesus, we will glorify God.
-          Jesus Death Gives us Life
o   By dying on the cross Jesus gave us life, because now we can be forgiven of our sins.  If we follow Jesus, we will help others even when it is difficult and causes us to suffer.
Pray for our children.  Pray that the things they saw and heard and experienced will help shape their faith, and that their knowledge of God will continue to grow.

Pray that we will be godly influences in the lives of the children around us, and that by our example we will teach them what it means to follow Christ.
