Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- October 12, 2014

The Vineyard

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Genesis 29:31-30:24

Pray that God will speak to you through the reading of His word.

-          God Sees Us

o   When times were tough for Leah, when she was feeling unloved and unwanted, God saw her and began blessing her with children.  Has there ever been a time when God “saw” you, even when you felt invisible to everyone else?

-          When Family Become Objects

o   Leah and Rachel find themselves locked in a battle, and children seem to become weapons that can be used to wound the other.  Have you ever made the mistake as seeing a family member as an object that can be used?  Have you ever felt used by others to wound someone else?

-          God is the Source of Life

o   In their experiences, both Leah and Rachel arrive at the proper conclusion that God is the source of life.  Do you acknowledge God as the source of your life, and live in a way that honors Him?

Pray that those struggling through life will be reminding that God sees, and loves them.

Pray that our families will be places of love and trust.

Thank God for giving you life, and resolve to live your life in a way that honors and glorifies Him.
