The Vineyard- January 11, 2015

The Vineyard

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

What is Truth?  Who Possesses It?

Pray that God will speak to you through the reading of His word.

-          What is Truth?

o   While Jesus is on trial, Pilate puts the question to Him, “what is truth?”  How does the answer to this question shape who we are, and the decisions that we make?

o   Everyone believes in something, in some ultimate reality.  What is the truth that you live by?  What determines who you are?

o   How does Jesus’ statement “I AM the way, the truth, and the life” help us better conceptualize what truth really is?

-          Who Possesses Truth?

o   Why is Truth something that is impossible to completely and fully possess?

o   If we can’t fully possess the truth, how do we share the truth with others?

o   How does the Truth actually possess us?

Pray that we will all discover God as the ultimate truth, and life our lives based on the truth of his love.

Pray for our ability to point others toward Jesus.

Pray that the Truth might completely and totally possess us, and that our lives might be lived in accordance with God’s will.
