Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- April 5, 2015

The Vineyard

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

The Resurrection is Real

Pray that God will speak to you through the reading of His word.

-          The Tomb was Found Empty

o   The empty tomb was a reality, and it means that death is not final, not even for us.  What encouragement does it bring to know that death is not the end?

-          The Appearances of Jesus

o   Jesus appeared to many people, several times after His resurrection.  What do you think it was like to see Jesus alive, when they had thought he was dead?  What do you think it will be like when we see Jesus for the first time?

-          The Boldness of His Disciples

o   Before Jesus’ death, His disciples were very much afraid of being associated with Him.  But just a few weeks later, they are boldly talking about Him in public.  What besides His resurrection could so embolden them?

-          The Reality of the Resurrection

o   Jesus’ resurrection is a historical reality.  It actually happened.  Is your spiritual life consistent with the fact of Jesus’ resurrection?

Pray that we might have courage and boldness, just as Jesus’ disciples did after the resurrection.

Pray that the resurrection will be not only a historical reality, but also a spiritual reality in each of our lives.
