Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- June 14, 2015

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

John 17:1-26
-          Jesus Prays for Himself
o   In this prayer of Jesus, we see Him longing to return to the Father’s side, longing to be once again who He truly is, the glorified Son of God.  What does it mean to you that Jesus willing left His home in glory with the Father, to endure life and a horrible death on earth, all so that we could be forgiven?
-          Jesus Prays for His Disciples
o   Notice that Jesus attention shifts to His followers, His disciples.  What does Jesus pray concerning His disciples?
o   How does Jesus’ prayer reveal what is truly important concerning our Christian walk?
-          Jesus Prays for You!
o   The final part of Jesus’ prayer is for those who would come to know Him in the future.  That’s you!
o   What does it mean to you, to know that Jesus, the Son of God, prayed for you before He went to the cross?
Praise God for His Son Jesus, and His willingness to humble Himself for our sake.
Pray for that we might bear witness to Christ in this world, and be as one just as Jesus desires.
Pray that just as we have come to know Christ through the labors of others, that our labors might also bring others to Him.
