Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- November 15, 2015

The Vineyard- November 15th, 2015
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Genesis 49:1-33
Pray for God to speak to you through the reading of His word.
Read the passage.
-          Corporate Solidarity
o   The world likes to act as if we can determine our own destiny.  However, our ability to succeed in life can be helped or harmed by the legacy of those who come before us.
o   When you think of your legacy, how you have lived your life, will it be a blessing or a curse to those who come after you?
o   Will your kids be faithful because of who you were, or in spite of who you were?
-          The Sovereignty of God
o   God possesses the power to plan history, and order things according to his will.
o   Centuries before the coming of King David, God had already revealed that the scepter would not pass from the tribe of Judah.
o   A thousand years later, the Messiah, Jesus Christ, would come from the same tribe.
o   Are you trusting the God who is capable of ordering history, to order your life?
Determine to leave the next generation in your family a positive legacy when it comes to faith.
Praise the God who orders history, and who is capable of bringing order to your life.
