The Vineyard- March 6, 2016

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Pray for God to speak to you through the reading of His word.
Jesus is the Christ
-          The word Christ is Greek equivalent of the Hebrew word Messiah, which means “anointed one.”
-          Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit at his baptism to perfectly fulfill the roles of prophet, priest, and king.
-          Do you allow Jesus to teach you as a prophet, intercede for you as a priest, and rule you as your king?
Jesus is the Son of God
-          A lot of passages in the New Testament tell us that Jesus is the Son of God.
-          Jesus relationship to God is unique, in that he is God’s Son because of his very nature.
-          How does Jesus as God’s Son reveal to us the nature of God the Father?
-          Passage to Consider: John 1:14, 18; Hebrews 1:1-4
Jesus is Lord
-          God is referred to as the Lord throughout the Old Testament, but then in the New Testament Jesus is also referred to as Lord.
-          What is the implication of Jesus being referred to by God’s title of Lord?
-          If Jesus is Lord at all, he must be Lord of all.  In the end all will bow before Jesus and confess that he is Lord.
-          Have you confessed that Jesus is Lord?
-          Does your life reflect your confession of Jesus as Lord?
-          Passage to Consider: Philippians 2:9-11; Matthew 7:21
Thank God for sending us the Christ, the long-awaited anointed one to be our prophet, priest, and king.
Praise Jesus for revealing the nature of the Father to us.

Pray for the ability to make Jesus the Lord of every aspect of our life!
