The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the
branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit,
for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5
Acts 9:32-43
Pray for God to speak to you through
the reading of his word.

Acting Like Jesus
o
Peter had the faith to believe that
Jesus’ would heal Aeneas. Of course,
that meant he also had to believe that Jesus was in some way present. Do you believe that Jesus’ is present in our
world today?
o
When Peter encountered someone, he
clearly tried to think about how Jesus’ would respond to that person. Do we intentionally ask ourselves, “What
would Jesus say or do?” in our encounters with others?

Becoming the backbone
o
People like Tabitha are the backbone
of the church, as they find ways to serve and meet the needs of others. What practical ways do you serve those around
you? If you were to die, would they miss
you as they missed Tabitha?
o
The world saw Tabitha as “just a
woman”, or “just a widow”, but she allowed herself to be used powerfully by
God. Do you trust God to use you, giving
you what you need to serve?
Pray that we may consider Jesus’
actions when deciding how to act and speak to others?
Pray that we may find meaningful and
practical ways to meet the needs of others.
