The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the
branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit,
for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5
I Corinthians 15:1-11
Pray for God to speak to you through
the reading of His word.
Read the passage.
-
What did you receive?
o
The gospel Paul preached was not his
own, but the one he had received. The
truth about Jesus is that he died for our sins, was buried, and was raised on
the third day. Is this truth at the core
of your faith?
-
You received grace
o
Paul had done awful things, even to
God’s church, and yet because of God’s grace he was not only saved, but given a
role to play in God’s plan. Do you see
your salvation as a demonstration of God’s grace? Do you trust that God’s grace can overcome
the sins in your life, no matter how horrible?
-
You responded in grace
o
Paul’s response to God’s grace was
to work hard, but that response was only possible because of…God’s grace. Do you try to respond to God’s grace with
your own power, or do you trust in God’s grace even to help you respond?
Pray that our faith might rest on
the bedrock of the gospel.
Pray that just as we receive God’s
grace, that we will also be empowered by God’s grace to respond with faithful
lives.
