Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- June 8, 2014

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Genesis 24:1-67
Pray for God to speak to you through the reading of His word.
Read the passage.
-          Immovable Faith
o   Even at the end of his life with the promise as yet unrealized, Abraham remains faithful to God’s calling for him and his family.  Are you living your life so that your family will live in a way that glorifies God, even after you are gone?
-          Incredible Loyalty
o   Abraham’s servant shows not only great faith, but incredible loyalty to Abraham and Isaac.  Would people consider you a loyal person?  Does your faith cause you to act with loyalty and integrity?
-          Lavish Hospitality
o   Rebekah showed herself to have a true servant’s heart by providing water not only for Abraham’s servant, but ten camels!  She did this without knowing that she would be blessed herself by her act of hospitality.  Would you have shown hospitality as Rebekah did?
Pray that like Abraham, we might dedicate ourselves to God’s calling for our life.
Pray that we might show the same integrity and loyalty that Abraham’s servant showed.

Pray that like Rebekah, we will be quick to show hospitality, even to strangers.
