The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the
branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit,
for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5
Colossians 1:24-2:5
Pray that God will speak to you
through the reading of His word.

Laboring for Others
o
Even though Paul had never met the
Colossians, he says that he is laboring even for them. How might we be of service to Christians whom
we may never meet? How are we serving the
universal church?
-
The Treasure of Christ
o
Paul uses words like “riches” and
“treasures” to refer to Christ, and learning more about Christ. The implication is that the more we learn of
Christ, the richer we are for it. Are
you continuing to learn more about Christ?
-
Are you Maturing?
o
Paul’s goal is to be able to present
the Colossian Christian as mature. In
other words, he doesn’t simply seek to convert people to Christ, but also wants
them to grow in Christ. Have you grown
in your faith in Christ since you first became a Christian? If not, why?
Pray that we will labor for the good
of others in the Kingdom of God, even if we never get to meet them face to
face.
Pray that we will develop a passion
for Christ, and make Him our treasure in life.
Pray that we will all mature and
grow in Christ.
