Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- February 1, 2015

The Vineyard

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Isn’t the Church responsible for a lot of injustice?

Pray that God will speak to you through the reading of His word.

-          What is usually the cause of the church contributing to injustice?

o   Why is it helpful to remember that Christians are still imperfect, and prone to sin?

o   Why is it important to remember our calling to service, and a citizenship in a kingdom not of this world?

-          The Bible critiques religion

o   Who does Jesus critique more, the religious or the non-religious?

o   When people criticize the church for sometimes contributing to injustice, where do they get their ideas of what justice truly is?

-          Justice in the Name of Jesus

o   What are some notable examples in history of people who worked for the justice described by Jesus and the Bible?

o   What are some ways that we as the church can work to make the world more just?

Pray that we will never lose sight of who Christ has called us to be as His church.

Prayerfully ask God to reveal to you areas in your own life where you can be more fair and just towards others.

Pray that we will follow our Lord and Savior’s example in loving others and seeing them treated fairly.
