Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- May 10, 2015

The Vineyard

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

John 15:9-17

-          Conduits of God’s Love

o   Jesus is the conduit through which God’s love is demonstrated to us.  In what ways does Christ demonstrate God’s love?

-          Commandments to Keep

o   Jesus connects our loving Him to our keeping His commandments.  What commandments of Jesus do you find particularly challenging?  How might you better keep those commandments?

-          What a Friend We Have in Jesus

o   As our friend, Jesus models true friendship with His willingness to lay down His life, and speak the truth.  Have you ever thought of Jesus as your Friend?

-          Does Jesus Have a Friend in Us?

o   When we consider Jesus’ commandments, and our own willingness to commit to Jesus, could we say with any truth that Jesus has a friend in us?  If not, what needs to change?

Praise God for loving us through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ask God to help us keep Christ’s commandments more fully and faithfully.

Thank God for Jesus willingness to be our friend.

Pray for the strength to be a friend to Jesus.
