The Vineyard
I am the vine; you
are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much
fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5
John 16:4-15

“To
our advantage”
o
It
is hard to believe that it was actually to the disciples’ advantage that Jesus’
leave them. Why does Jesus say that it
is to their advantage?
o
We
often lament not living at the time when we could physically see Jesus, which
would be a tremendous blessing. However,
Jesus says we receive a greater blessing in the coming of the Helper. Do we sometimes forget about the presence of
the Helper in our life?
-
For
the prosecution
o
The
Helper will come and convict the world of what three things?
o
How
are sin, righteousness, and judgment defined by the life, death, and resurrection
of Jesus Christ?
-
Glorifying
Christ
o
The
role of the Helper will be to assist the disciples in comprehending the
identity and teachings of Christ.
o
How
do we rely on the Helper, the Spirit, to guide us in better understanding and
following Christ?
Pray
that we will embrace the role of the Helper in our lives.
Pray
that the world will be convicted of sin, righteousness, and judgment through
the work of the Helper.
