Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- May 18, 2014

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Psalm 16
Pray for God to speak to you through the reading of His word.
Read the passage.
-          We are faithful servants
o   Our first job as Christians is to find refuge in God, and to delight in our relationships with those who share our faith.  Is God your source of hope?  Do you seek to build and maintain relationships with others of faith?
o   In order to serve God, we must not run after other gods, or other things.  Are there things you desire more than God?  Has that desire ever brought you grief?
-          God is a faithful Lord
o   God is a giver of wisdom to those who seek it.  Do you search for the wisdom of God, or do you usually rely on your own understanding?
o   God’s promise to the faithful is that he will not allow them to see “corruption”.  In other words, he will not allow our final destination to be the grave.  Do you live life in such a way as to embrace that promise?
Pray that we will be better, more faithful servants of God.
Pray that we will have more faith in God, and trust him more each day.
