Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- May 4, 2014

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

I Corinthians 15:35-49
Pray for God to speak to you through the reading of His word.
Read the passage.
-          God’s might > Our imagination
o   For some, the inability to imagine the resurrection or other miraculous events is a barrier to faith.  Do you find it hard to imagine the beautiful future God has in store for us?  Aren’t you glad God’s might is greater than our ability to imagine?
-          Everything will change
o   The dead in Christ will be changed, but also those still living will also be transformed.  What does this tell you about the resurrection?  Is it simply the undoing of death?  Or, is it something even more grand?
-          Everything will stay the same
o   While we will all be transformed, we will also still be ourselves.  Though our bodies will have been changed, glorified even, our identities will be the same.  Why is this a blessing?
Pray that God will give us the faith to imagine more and more of the glories he has prepared for us.
Pray for the day when we will all be transformed.
Pray that our identity now will be found in Christ, so that when the great day of the Lord arrives, we will be made like him.
