Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- August 16, 2015

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

II Corinthians 6:1-13
Pray for God to speak to you through the reading of His word.
Read the passage.
-          Co-Workers with God
o   Paul says he works with God to implore the Corinthians to not receive God’s grace in vain.  To work with God, we must align ourselves with His agenda, rather than expecting Him to align himself with ours.  Are we allowing God’s agenda to shape our life and our priorities?
-          The Life of Ministry
o   All Christians are called to ministry.  God has given us some gift, some talent to use to His glory.  What have been some of the challenges you’ve met as you’ve tried to serve God and others?  What have been some of the joys?
-          Leaving the Door Open
o   Paul wants his relationship with the Corinthians to improve.  For this reason, he speaks honestly, and continues to show affection for them.  All of us have relationships that we wish were better.  Have we been honest and showed affection to those we may be at odds with?
Pray for a desire to be a co-worker with God, and give yourself over to His agenda.
Pray for endurance to weather the challenges of ministry.

Pray for the ability to speak honestly and show affection toward those we may be at odds with.
