Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- August 2, 2015

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

II Corinthians 5:1-10
Pray for God to speak to you through the reading of His word.
Read the passage.
-          Life in a Tent
o   How does this life remind you of living in a tent?
o   Why do we tend to think of God more when conditions in our life are less than ideal?
-          Something More
o   Paul says that this tent will be overlaid with a building from God, a house not made with mortal hands.  When you envision a perfected body, what do you think of?
o   What does it look like for us to groan in anticipation of the glorious future that awaits us?
-          Christ Our Prize
o   Our aim, wherever we find ourselves, should be to please our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
o   Why should we make pleasing Christ our chief goal in life?
o   When you think about standing before Christ, and answering for what you have done in this life, what emotions do you feel?  Why do you think you feel that way?
Praise God that a perfect body awaits us, in which we will spend eternity with him!

Pray for wisdom in living to please Christ each and every day.
