The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the
branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit,
for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5
Luke 5:17-26
- Who brings the paralyzed man to Jesus? What does Jesus noticed about these men?
- Why do the scribes and some of the Pharisees object to the
man’s being healed? Why do they find
Jesus words objectionable?
- How do you think Jesus’ knew what they were thinking?
- Why does Jesus tell the man his sins are forgiven? What is the connection between forgiving his
sins, and healing his body?
- Have you ever felt paralyzed by something in your
life? How did God release you from that
burden? How did you show your gratitude?
Hebrews 12:4-17
- How does considering the sufferings of Christ help with
our own endurance?
- Is discipline a good thing, or a bad?
- God disciplines us so that we may become His
children. How do you think this takes
place?
- What lessons can we learn from being disciplined?
- Why do you think the author of Hebrews uses Esau as an
example? Did Esau ever have a chance to
regain his birthright? Are we guaranteed
a chance to repentance?
