Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- April 7, 2013

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Acts 1:1-26
Pray for God to speak to you through the reading of his word.
Read the passage.
-          Jesus tells us to offensive, rather than defensive minded
o   Why do we always expect the world to come to us, rather than us going to the world?
o   What ways can we as the church take the gospel to the world?  How can we reclaim the world around us for Jesus Christ?
-          Jesus promises the gift of the Holy Spirit
o   Jesus is physically absent, but still with us.  How would your life change if you lived everyday believing that Jesus was with you?
o   Why do we shy away from talking about the Holy Spirit?
o   Do we truly believe that God’s Spirit dwells inside of us as Christians?  If not, why?
-          We each have a role to play
o   Do you believe that Jesus has a role for you to play in his kingdom?
o   Are you ok if that role isn’t seen by others as a “major part”?
Pray that we may take the gospel to the world, rather than waiting for the world to come to us.
Pray that we may recognize the work of the Spirit in our life, and in our church.
Pray that we may each discover the part that Jesus is calling us to play.
