Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- March 31, 2013

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Luke 24:1-12
Pray for God to speak to you through the reading of his word.
Read the passage.
-          The angels told the women to remember what Jesus had told them
o   Why did they need to understand that this was part of God’s plan?
o   Could that have remembered Jesus’ words, if they had never listened to him in the first place?
o   Can we remember Jesus’ words to us in critical moments of our life, if we never take the time to read them?
-          The women go and tell the other disciples
o   Do we view our faith as a private matter, or do we share the news of Jesus Christ with others?
o   Why is it important to share our experience with Jesus Christ?
-          Peter goes to the tomb for himself
o   All of us first heard the good news about Jesus Christ for someone else.  Do you continue to live off of their testimony, or do you go looking for Jesus yourself?
o   Why is it important that we seek Jesus for ourselves?
Pray that we may study Jesus teaching, and that we may remember it so that it shapes us.
Pray that we may seek out Jesus Christ for ourselves, rather than attempting to live off of the testimony of others.
