The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the
branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit,
for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5
Genesis 35:1-29
Pray that God will speak to you
through the reading of His word.

Cleaning House
o
Jacob instructs his house to bury
their idols to foreign gods. What idols
do we have in our life that need to be buried?
Would you be willing t bury some of the things that compete with God for
your devotion?
-
Living and Dying
o
Life and death happen in the same
context. Rachel gives birth to Benjamin,
even as she herself is dying. How does
your faith allow you to make it in a world where both life and death are
realities?

United in Loss
o
We find Isaac and Ishmael together
as they bury Abraham, and the same can be said for Jacob and Esau as they bury
Isaac. How does loss help us see the
bigger picture of what is truly important in life?
Pray for the desire and willingness
to give up the idols in your life that are competing with God for your devotion.
Pray for a strong faith, that allows
you to endure the good times and the bad, through life and through death.
Look for the common, important
things in life that bring us together in love and harmony.
