Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!

The Vineyard- January 4, 2015

The Vineyard

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Matthew 2:13-23

Pray that God will speak to you through the reading of His word.

-          The Slaughter of Innocence

o   Herod ruthlessly kills infant boys in an attempt to stave off any threat to his rule.  How does our world kill both innocents and innocence in an effort to maintain power?

-          God Gets It

o   Jesus experienced things that we have never had to face, including but not limited to the cross.  Before he could walk or talk Jesus was a refugee with a price on his head.  What does it mean, to know that Jesus experienced such trials here on earth?

-          Everything According to Plan

o   In this passage Matthew points out a few ways that Jesus’ coming into the world happened just as God said it would.  What does it mean to know that God loves you so much, he planned for His Son to come to earth to redeem you?

Pray that as Christians we will do everything possible to protect both innocents and innocence.

Thank God for a Messiah who has experienced the trials of life, and understands our struggles.

Praise God for His plan to redeem us through Christ our Lord.
