The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the
branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit,
for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5
Acts 8:26-40
Pray for God to speak to you through
the reading of his word.
Read the passage.
-
God leads us
o
Philip is led first by an angel,
then by the Spirit of the Lord. Are we
attentive to the leading of the Spirit in our lives?
-
God transforms exclusion into
embrace
o
The eunuch was returning from
Jerusalem, but as a eunuch he wouldn’t have been allowed to participate in
temple worship.
o
For the eunuch, the gospel was being
fully included in the family of God for the first time. Who are the spiritual “eunuchs” of our
day? How might God be calling us to
include them in his family?
Pray that we will seek God’s leading
in our lives, and that we as a church will be open to discerning where God is
leading us to, and whom he is leading us to.
Pray that those who feel excluded
will find our church a place where they are embraced by God, as well as by us
as Christians. Pray that God will send
us those in need of hope, love, and encouragement.
