The Vineyard- February 26, 2012

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Mark 14:1-26
- A woman comes and anoints Jesus with a very costly nard.  The woman spent a great deal in order to honor Jesus.  What do you spend, or sacrifice, in order to honor Christ?  How much of yourself do you give to Him?
Jesus explains in His institution of the Lord’s Supper that His sacrifice is the beginning of a new covenant between God and man.  How do you remember Jesus’ when you partake of the communion?
Jesus sat at a table with His disciples, a group of men who failed to understand.  One of them would deny Him.  One of them would betray Him.  And yet knowing this, Jesus still fellowshipped with them in a remarkable way.  Are you willing to follow Christ’s example and fellowship with those who have wronged you, with those with whom you cannot get along?

Psalm 119:1-8:
The psalm says blessed are those whose way is blameless, and yet we know that none of us are blameless.  How then, can we be blessed?
- It also says blessed are those who walk in the law of the Lord.  For us as Christians, what does it mean to walk in the law of the Lord?
- The psalm refers to those who seek the Lord with their whole heart.  How do we do that?  How do we seek after God with all of our being?
