Welcome!

Welcome to the blog of the Glenmora Church of Christ, in Glenmora, Louisiana. Whether you are a part of our church family or a friend from miles away, we hope that you will follow this blog as a means of celebrating with us all of the ways God is at work in our community. Our goal is to share with you reflections on what we have learned from God's word in recent weeks, information on upcoming events, updates on those in need of our prayers, as well as reports of praise for those whose prayers have been answered! Additionally, we hope to share lots of pictures so that you will be able to actually SEE the many ways that God continues to bless us through worship, study, and wonderful friendships. And of course, if you live in or are visiting Glenmora, we would love to SEE you!
May God bless you as you seek to follow Christ!

The Vineyard- February 5, 2012

The Vineyard
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. – John 15:5

Mark 12:1-17
- Have you ever been guilty of rebelling against God, as the tenants in this parable do?  Have you responded to God’s continued offers of grace and mercy, despite that rebellion?
- The world rejected Christ, and yet God has made Him the cornerstone of His coming kingdom.  What does that tell you about God, and His plans for the world?  What does it tell you about suffering and faith?
-  According to Jesus, Caesar can have the things bearing his image, God want’s the things that bear God’s image.  Since we are all made in the image of God, what does that tell you about God’s true desires?  What does God really want from us?

Psalm 25
- This psalm of David paints the picture of a man is placing his trust entirely in God.  “To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.”  Do you trust God with your soul?
-  David is frank in listing his enemies, and the problems he is facing.  Do you ever have honest talks with God, where you cast your cares on Him?  Do you confide in Him regularly?
- David trusts God for salvation, or deliverance, from his foes.  What foes do you trust God to deliver you from?
